Poster presentation

On 26 August, we presented the posters that we had made as part of a group project. We had to choose essays and highlight the various aspects of the essay via the poster, and present it in class. We presented the poster as a team in the class, and then answered the questions that were posed by the evaluators when they inspected our posters personally.

First, we had a meeting to decide the essay on which we would make the poster. Each of us shared articles that we found to be interesting, and then collectively decided on an essay. The article that we worked on was titled "Indians spend 30 minutes a day browsing memes", from Times Now web edition. We read the article carefully and identified the different aspects of the essay such as the thesis statement, supporting statements, and conclusion statement. Then, we made a plan as to how to organise the information effectively on the poster. We wrote out the thesis statement and concluding statements by hand, and stuck cutouts of the supporting statements on the poster. We organised the data provided in the article into pie charts. And, since our essay was about memes, we also included some memes related to academics.

In conclusion, the activity was an enriching experience and helped us bond with our classmates along with helping us understand the aspects of an essay better.
