Week 3 review

 On Thursday, we learnt about the most crucial aspect of an essay - the thesis statement. The thesis statement is the main point or controlling idea of any essay and thus, has a large impact on the coherence of the essay. 

On Friday, we learnt about the different text genres in academic writing. We also learnt about the different types of essays in academic writing such as argumentative essays, research proposals, reports, project reports, abstracts, book reviews and literature reviews, and their different elements.
