Week 11 review

In Thursday's class, we discussed the different ways of incorporating statements into an essay. These can be "They say", or the statements by other people, or "I say", which consist of the writer's own opinions. We were given sample essays and asked to colour code the "They say" and "I say" components. This activity enabled us to have a better understanding of the various components of an essay and how ideas are organised within an essay. 

On Friday, we were split into pairs, and analysed each others' multimodal essays. We checked the relevancy of the multimodal elements incorporated into the essay, the overall coherence of the essay and gave each other suggestions to improve the essay. Analysing the essay of others also helped us understand our own essays better.
